Supa Swap says that the game of Monopoly is a classic board game enjoyed by all ages and has been a favourite with families for many years. Monopoly is published by Parker Bros, a subsidiary of Hasbro and this year celebrates its 75th anniversary. More than 275 million games have been sold worldwide and has been created in 43 different languages and is availabe in over 100 countries, so it is probably the most popular and most played game ever.
The art of the game is to travel around the board buying up properties as you land on them and then collecting rent from fellow players as they land on your property. Once you have collected the full set of streets, you start building houses and hotels at which time the rent you can collect considerably increases. This process is repeated until all but one person becomes bankrupt. The game can go on for a long time, in fact the longest Monopoly game in history lasted for 70 days.
In recent years many different versions of the game have been produced featuring Disney, sports teams, television programmes and more.
Great fun for all the family to enjoy.
