nintendo

Nintendo 3DS it one of the best handheld gaming consoles on the market. This little gem really is set to take the market of smartphone gaming technology with its glasses free 3D technology and a price tag of just under 220 quid we here at Supa Swap office love it!

Glits and Glam

Nintendo 3D

This console is constructed with a very tough shell and virtually unbreakable when closed into its folding Clamshell design. Measuring when closed 135 x 20 x 75 mm, which is the same as the DS and DS Lite. The light blue colour really stands it away from the rest.

The hinge is a little loose and the charging lead gets in the way of some gameplays. The case being metallic looks great but does show up all the fingerprints. When opening the 3DS there are two screens, the lower a 3inch super touch screen and the top 3.5 inch makes gameplay a pleasure.

3D, No Glasses!

Yes thats right 3D and no glasses due to this unique Parallax technology, this is a barrier set under the screen that is covered in tiny slits, allowing two different images to be fired from one display in different directions, align your eyes correctly and you will see a 3D image.

Colours are perfect in this razor sharp picture and the buttons are all set in the right place.

This has to be one of the best handhelds I have ever used, a real winner in Supa Swap's view. Well done Nintendo.

Supa Swap reviews this week one of the latest virtual world time pieces to come onto the market, Super Mario in 3D.

mario

3DS

Super Mario dates back to the late 80's, and were as fantastic back then as they are now, the only difference being that the graphics are now, literaly, out of this world, with the latest having incorporated new no glasses 3D technology.

Moving Parts

The first thing I noticed on playing this latest, hand held Mario game is that there is much more going on at once in the moving backgrounds with endless options which makes this classic a lot more enjoyable to follow as you move between levels. Super Mario contains a huge number of hidden buttons and levers which takes you on a whole new game experience every time you play the game, and I'm sure there are hundreds I have not yet discovered, but am excited to find them.

3D technology

Virtual world games like Super  Mario and Legend Of Zelda seem to come alive with 3D graphics technology compared to 2D technology. You find yourself trying to grasp at different moving items and can see behing the objects and move them around the screen. With 3D it almost feels like you are inside the console itself, and all this can be seen without wearing 3D glasses.

Overal

Overal we here at Supa Swap feel this is a real winner, excellent 3D graphics, endless levels of busy brain stimulating missions and hidden secrets whilst still keeping the "classic" feel of this virtual magical land game where we can all escape to once in a while. The best parts have been kept and the rest just gets better.

10/10 in our games rating.

Nintendo

History

Nintendo released the DS in 2004, and ever since has been one of the top selling hand-held gaming consoles. In 2006 Nintendo released the popular Wii, which has now had record sales and 5 years on still has not been modified in any way, which is the sign of a good design.

Supa Swap would now like to announce that Nintendo have now released the Nintendo 3DS.

3D Technology

This is a hand-held gaming console in 3D, without the need for glasses. With hundreds of games now available for the Nintendo 3DS, this really is the best choice you can make.

Features

The 3DS gives better visual concept to the games and better way of judging distance in all important jumping games like Jumping flash and Super Mario 64, as features in our www.supaswap-ps3.com Blog this week.

The Nintendo 3DS comes with 3.5 inch top screen and a 3.02 inch bottom screen, which is touch sensitive. It has 3 cameras which enable it to take 3D pictures. It also has a motion sensor, a gyro sensor and a slide pad that allow a 360 degree analogue input. This console really is the best on the market and comes in at a price of around £149.99, a real bargain in our view.

Brain Train

Supa Swap this week would like to bring to you Brain Training, a Nintendo game for the whole family. It is easy to use and cheap to buy and is great for the children to learn whilst having fun at the same time. For the older generation they really do work on getting that grey matter back into action.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training comes with hundreds of levels to work through, and just a few minutes per day will give you a huge improvement in memory and quick thinking.

How Old Is Your Brain, is one of the latest to be released in this super brain testing series, and Dr. Kawashima gives you levels from simple daily questions to the most advanced brain stimulants on the market.

How Does it Work?

How do they work? Brain Training games work by giving you little general knowledge questions, times tables, and remembering displayed items and colours. Brain Training is designed to be used for just 2 or 3 minutes per day. This uses the brain in news ways on a day to day basis, which in-turn keeps it stimulated. You can either use the touchscreen or you can speak directly into the microphone to answer the questions; it is as simple to use as a book. Give it a go and you will be amazed just how much difference it will make. You can also see a huge improvement with the children using it too, this one really is for the whole family.

Price ranges from about $5.00 upwards

Great learning and fun game.

Wii Skin

Nintendo confirm that the Wii will be available in other colours than just White, now a new Black version has hit the market, back in March Nintendo also released the Dark Blue, Pink and Lime Green version.

If you are looking for something really different and unique then skins are also available, and if you go to www.decalgirl.com they have hundreds of skins to choose from to stick on and transform your Wii to personalise it your own way. We at supaswap feel that the skins are a much cooler option, as the coloured Wiis are set at a slightly higher price and more difficult to obtain, however they are identical as the original white version with no added features.

Skins are also available for the classic controller, Nunchuck and remote control, all to match the console. These are great, easy to fit and look just like it is made in the factory. Every colour you can think of is available and at around $15 they are cheap enough to chop and change as you get bored.

The skins are printed on Premium cast vinyl, thin enough to give a gloss painted finish and strong enough to protect against small scratches and knocks. They can be easily removed leaving no sticky mess so you can change as often as you dare!

So why not treat yourself to a new look Wii, but without the cost. Supa Swap love these covers.

Scrabble

Most children these days have a Nintendo DS and have hours of fun playing games on it. Why not get them to also use it to improve their word knowledge by playing one of the many word games now available.

One of these games is Scrabble, and just like the original board game, you make words to gain a number score for the longest words or for words using the more uncommon letters. You can play with one or more opponents and the aim is to achieve the highest score.

Children will have hours of fun trying to beat their previous score or to beat their opponents whilst at the same time increasing their knowledge of the english language as the meaning of each word placed on the board appears on the screen.

There are several versions available on the market and to save money you could purchase a secondhand one through www.supaswap.com.

Happy Scrabbling!!!

Nintendo DSi

The Nintendo DSI is still one of the most popular hand held gaming consoles on the market and is reasonably priced, small and compact as well as guaranteed to keep your kids entertained for hours.

It is perfect to be used on long journeys in the car and you can buy accessories such as carrying cases, car chargers so you will never be left without charge. It also has a fantastic choice of games you can buy or better still swap them for other games on www.supaswap.com.

The New Nintendo DSI in Pink is the perfect gift for your little princess, featuring the same great features as the original Black model; she will be envy of all her friends.

Priced at $139.00 and on the market now, the Nintendo DSI in Pink features built in memory, built in microphone for language learning, touchscreen and you can change the pitch and speed with the touchscreen. This makes the DSI much better than the former DS and DS lite.

consola-wii

The Nintendo Wii is great for all ages, it has cordless movement controls which gets you out of the chair and play the games with real motion movements.

It has lots of different games to play from exercise to dance, fighting to running, the Nintendo Wii really does have everything for everyone.

I recently bought my Wii on www.supaswap.com for a great price of £90.00. It included a console, 2 motion controls and a charging base

If you want a new one you can now pick them up for around £180.00 and comes in Black or White which is the nicest colour.

There are endless games available which can set you back anything from £20.00 up, or you can go to www.supaswap.com and swap, sell or buy games at a much reduced cost.

Great news from Supa Swap, Nintendo have now launched the new and exciting Nintendo 3DS, and I have to say it looks fantastic.

Price range is estimated to be around $200 and I think it is worth every cent. Features include a 3D vision screen without the need for glasses, analogue button for easy movement around the screen and a touch screen. The ability to turn off the 3D affect menas you are still able to play your 2D games, so all of your old favourite games will not be left on the shelf. A built in camera for 3D photo shots, movie playback and built in wi-fi are also inlcuded in the device.

This game console is the same size at the predecessor but with more features packed in to it.

It is due to be released in Spring 2011 but I think it will be well worth waiting for.

Playing Games

With so many times of games on the market for your child, it is hard to know where to turn. Should they exercise the body or the mind, or should they just be good fun. In the Supa Swap blog The Games Room, our blogger James, takes a weekly look at some of the possible options.

James worked for many years in market research for a Games company and this has given him a unique perspective about how children react to different stimuli.

So if you can´t find what you are looking for, why not send James a message through one of the blog comments.
